Arched Picket Profile: Where It Fits

The arched top defines the HAB3. Pickets rise to a gentle curve across the 96" section width, which reads as a classic residential picket line while keeping the panel open enough for air movement and sightlines. The arch is formed by picket length rather than a separate decorative insert, so the panel keeps one uniform material family across every component and no dissimilar part has to be replaced separately.

Standard Section Build and Component Specifications

Every HAB3 section ships as a pre-notched kit. The build below is the standard reference; heights, widths and picket counts are adjusted per project.

Reading the Specification: Height, Width, Picket Spacing and Posts

Standard section height is 48" and standard width is 96". Both are nominal references, not limits — we cut to the height and width your layout requires, and picket spacing is fixed at the time of routing so the arch geometry stays consistent from the first section to the last.

Posts and routing

Posts are supplied at 4" x 4" or 5" x 5" and 72" length as standard, pre-routed to the position each one occupies in the run: line, end, corner, three-way or blank. Routing in our factory removes the on-site hole-cutting step that most often introduces alignment error, and it keeps rail spacing identical from post to post.

Rails and the aluminum insert

Top and bottom rails are 2" x 3-1/2" x 94" and pre-notched to accept the pickets. The bottom rail carries an aluminum insert for commercial strength — this is the component that resists rail sag over long spans and is why HAB3 holds up in farm and yard applications where panels take occasional livestock or equipment contact.

Material, Formulation and Climate Boundaries

HAB3 is extruded from 100% virgin PVC — rigid polyvinyl chloride resin compounded with UV inhibitors, impact modifiers and stabilizers — and is not a coated substrate. There is no recycled content and no lead in the formulation. We use US DuPont TiO2 at 10 parts per 100 and US or German brand pigments, all traceable back to batch.

The formulation sets the operating boundaries:

• Temperature range: −40°C to 70°C
• Fire performance: V-0 rated
• Water: does not absorb water, so no rot or decay
• Maintenance: no painting, staining or sealing
• Chalking: TiO2 loading is specified to resist surface chalking

Colors are White, Tan, Grey and Cream. Pigment is compounded through the profile rather than applied to the surface, so the finish does not depend on a coating that can scratch through to a different color underneath.

HAB3 is ordered as Section + Post + Gate = Complete Fence, which lets a full run be specified without loose component counting.

Production, Quality Control and Acceptance Evidence

Production runs through extrusion, cutting, drilling, notching, packaging and storage. An independent quality-control group inspects each extruder's production every hour and carries out random checks in addition, so a deviation is caught at the line rather than at final packing.

Certification and test documentation supplied with HAB3 orders covers SGS, CE and ISO 9001. The material is lead-free and V-0 rated for fire performance, and we hold CE, ROHS and UL94 certificates at company level. The product carries a 30-year limited warranty. Installation Sequence and Site Interfaces

HAB3 installs much like a wood picket fence, with the routing already completed. Rails insert into the routed post holes, pickets insert into the notched rails, and post caps go on after the fence is set. The heavier wall post-and-rail configuration and the notched rails give greater pullout resistance and stronger fastening than an assembly drilled on site.

Post setting is the one interface that depends on your site. Treat PVC posts the same as wood posts: where local practice is to cement wood fence posts, cement the PVC posts to the same depth and in the same manner. Frost depth, soil type and wind exposure determine embedment, and wind performance depends on the style, the post installation and the number of horizontal rails.
