Reading the Specification

Height and width

The 48" x 96" section is the working baseline: 48" of picket above grade and 96" between post centrelines, which keeps the picket count and rail span in a predictable rhythm. Height changes drive picket length and the number of rails; width changes drive picket quantity and rail length. Both are cut to the project drawing rather than rounded to a stock size.

Picket size and spacing

Standard pickets are 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 40" at 21 pieces per section. Narrower pickets with wider gaps give a lighter, more open elevation; wider pickets or tighter spacing give a denser screen. The crown cap is extruded to match the picket face so the top line stays flush across the run.

Post routing and post caps

Posts arrive pre-routed as line, end, corner, 3-way or blank, which removes on-site routing and keeps rail heights consistent across a long run. Post caps are fitted after the fence is standing, so the New England, flat or gothic cap can be confirmed late in the project without holding up the section order.

Rails and the aluminum insert

Both rails are 2" x 3-1/2" x 94" and pre-notched to accept the pickets. The aluminum insert in the bottom rail adds stiffness where sections are long, where wind exposure is high, or where the fence is used on commercial and pool perimeters.

Material and Formulation

Sections are extruded from 100% virgin PVC with no recycled content and no lead. The formulation uses DuPont non-chalking TiO2 at 10 parts per 100, together with US or German brand pigments and domestically produced PVC resin; all incoming materials are traceable. The compound is built for long-term durability, flexibility and weatherability, with a working temperature range of -40°C to 70°C.

Colours, Caps and Matching Components

White, tan, grey and cream cover the majority of residential and estate specifications; colour is held across pickets, rails, posts, caps and gates so a completed run reads as one system. Projects that mix elevations can pair the crown cap picket section with HAE1 traditional dog ear picket or a privacy panel such as HAD2 white vinyl fence 4'Hx8'W along the same post line.

Installation and Site Interfaces

The section kit contains all rails and pickets, so a complete fence is created by adding sections, posts and gates. Components are precut and pre-routed for standard installation: rails slot into the routed post holes, pickets slot into the notched rails, and caps are attached last. The heavier wall post-and-rail configuration with notched rails increases resistance to pullout.

• Posts are set the same way as wood posts; where local practice is to cement wood posts, vinyl posts are cemented to the same depth.
• Post spacing follows the section width, so the 96" baseline should be confirmed against the actual fence line before cutting rails.
• Gate posts take the gate leaf and hardware load and are routed accordingly.

Quality Control and Acceptance

Production runs through extrusion, cutting, hole drilling, notching, packing and storage under one roof, from raw material to delivery. An independent quality-control group inspects each extruder's output every hour and carries out additional random checks, so wall thickness, colour and routing are verified during the run rather than at the end of it.

For project acceptance we supply the section and component list against the approved drawing, colour and profile references, and the certificate set. Sections are packed at 0.08 CBM each, and a 40HQ order is typically delivered within 7-10 days.
